missingWrote a review on 09 Deccomfortable bedsgood breakfasthelpful staffrun down decorunpleasant odorspoor maintenance
I had a better experience at La Quinta Bakersfield South than I thought I would. The room felt adequate with comfortable beds, and the air conditioning worked well. Breakfast had some nice options, especially the waffles, which were a hit. However, the hotel could use some updates. The pool area looked a bit rundown. the lounge chairs were not in great shape. I also didn’t appreciate the unexpected $50 pet fee. It wasn’t mentioned when I made the reservation, so that caught me off guard. Overall, I would consider going back. just be prepared for some quirks.

missingWrote a review on 06 Novcomfortable bedcomplimentary breakfastnoise disturbances
The room offered a comfortable king-sized bed, perfect for resting after a long journey. The complimentary breakfast, though simple, provided enough fuel to kickstart the day with basic options like muffins and waffles.
Right outside my room, noise levels were exceptionally disruptive, with loud conversations and car horns from people coming and going throughout the night. Faced further inconveniences with the lack of essential amenities like a microwave or fridge, which made food storage difficult, especially when the single elevator was located inconveniently far from my room on the third floor. Finally, a $50 charge appeared unexpectedly, making the payment process feel a bit deceptive and leaving me frustrated about how funds were handled after checking out.

You’ll thank me later
If cleanliness and safety are your priorities, look elsewhere! Dirty rooms, strange odors, and unsavory characters nearby overshadow any positives. My experience was marred by cockroaches and the constant noise of partying guests. Breakfast was a letdown with stale options. Do yourself a favor.

If you're a foodie, you'll love the local gems like the Junction Diner and Lounge—definitely a must-try for breakfast! Plus, the front desk staff were friendly, making check-in a breeze. Another highlight was the comfy space in our room with a real table to enjoy meals at.
The place could use some TLC! The shower was dirty, and we ran into cockroaches like they owned the place. The door was a challenge to navigate. Nevertheless, those fresh coffee packets did brew a silver lining!

The staff here had more charm than a magician pulling rabbits out of a hat! They made check-in a breeze, and the breakfast options had enough variety to satisfy any early bird—especially those homemade waffles that could make even a grumpy morning feel bright. Staff was awesome, but yikes on the room!
So, the staff was super friendly, especially the breakfast lady and the maintenance guy. But when we got to our room, it was a total letdown—dirty carpet, roaches everywhere, and stained sheets. The place felt more like a nightmare than a getaway. The pool was freezing too. Guess the location was decent near food spots, though.
